Wishing Hamas to disarm, is that not a basic error?

 It seems to me that when you broker peace between two fighting parties, like the US has started end Spetember 2025 between Israël and Hamas, it is an error to try and force one of the two parties then to disarm. If Hamas disarmed, that would make them harmless against the well-known desire of Israël to kill them all. It would led to a butchery over the coming years.  Hamas would be crazy to accept disarming.
